Why We Do What We Do
Chihuahuas are one of the most misunderstood breeds, leading them to be the second most surrendered dog in shelters. Our founder, Lorena Cooke, once shared these misconceptions—until she adopted Sofia, an 11-year-old long-haired Chihuahua who changed her perspective entirely.
This personal journey ignited a passion to showcase the true nature of Chihuahuas and advocate for their rightful place as beloved companions. A pivotal moment was the rescue of Keto, a malnourished Chihuahua puppy whose transformation captivated millions online. His story epitomizes the untapped potential of Chihuahuas to change hearts and minds when given the chance.
Through education, storytelling, and community building, we are committed to ensuring that fewer Chihuahuas end up in shelters and more find loving, understanding homes.
